If you care about property taxes, the state's economy, all of the jobs that have been driven from the State by sky high corporate taxes, and Governor Chris Christie's ability to turn around the States finances, pay very close attention.

What Is At Stake In Redistricting Is Control Of The Legislature For The Next 10 Years.

"You're going to hear a lot of political theory and statistics," Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Cryan, D-Union, said. "But I just want everybody to keep this in mind: This exercise is going to decide New Jersey's public policy for the next decade. Make no mistake, this is really about public policy and how it gets determined. This affects every individual in New Jersey — to their neighborhood, to their block."

Why It Really Matters: A map drawn by Republicans was used in the 1990s, and the GOP controlled the Legislature for 10 years. A map drawn by Democrats was used for the last decade, and that party has controlled Trenton ever since. These maps can be drawn to protect incumbents and limit competition, block efforts to reform property taxes, or be made wildly responsive to voters' whims.

Dems Renews Effort To Raise Taxes

Governor Christie Calls The Democrats' Rich Tax Proposal, a 'one-year fix'

New Jersey’s millionaires are at the center of another budget debate between Governor Chris Christie and the Democrats who control the Legislature, every one of whom is up for re-election this year.

Democratic Legislators once again plan proposing a tax increase on those making more than $1 million a year. This time they plan on adding it to the State Budget.

Governor Christie vetoed the tax increase last year, which Democrats claimed would have restored property tax rebates for senior citizens. But to what end? 

The Governor, and rightfully so, is accusing Democratically controlled Legislature of pandering to senior citizens in an election year. He called the proposal a one-year fix that will harm the state's economy.

He reiterated his pledge to veto any tax increase, he characterized the dispute as a "philosophical difference" between himself and Democrats that want a Bigger More Expensive Government.

President's Proposed Budget Includes A 1099 Provision

Congressional Democrats and Republicans and even the White House are backing the elimination of the burdensome 1099 provision that requires all business to report to the IRS annual purchases of goods and services of more than $600 from all vendors. 

The Senate has already overwhelmingly approved an amendment to eliminate the 1099 provision.

Gov. Chris Christie Slams Washington Politics As Usual

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie scolds both Democrats and Republicans, arguing it's time to start addressing tough fiscal issues directly and stop using the silent treatment as a political strategy. He discussed a variety of issues including Social Security and what he believes needs to be done.

“I look at what’s happening in Washington D.C. right now and I’m worried. I’m worried," Christie said to a crowded room at the American Enterprise Institute, in Washington.

The Governor said leaders aren’t talking about the toughest and most important problems America faces, he called their silence on fiscal issues a political strategy being played by both Republicans and Democrats.

“The president’s not talking about it because he’s waiting for the Republicans to talk about it,” Christie said. “And our new bold Republicans we just sent to the House of Representatives, they’re not talking about it because they’re waiting for him to talk about it. Let me suggest to you that my children’s future and your children’s future is more important than some political strategy. Let me suggest to you that what game is being played down here is irresponsible and it is dangerous. We need to say these things and we need to say them out loud. ”

CDW Files Comments In Response To NLRB's Proposed Rule

Today, CDW filed comments in response to the NLRB's proposed rule that would require the 6 million employers to post a notice in the workplace informing employees of their right to organize and join a union.  

The Proposed Rule Would Require ALL Employers to Post Notices Encouraging Employees to Organize

The NLRB issued a statement saying: "The intended effects of this action are to increase knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) among employees, to better enable the exercise of rights under the statute, and to promote statutory compliance by employers and unions."
