Congressional Democrats and Republicans and even the White House are backing the elimination of the burdensome 1099 provision that requires all business to report to the IRS annual purchases of goods and services of more than $600 from all vendors.
The Senate has already overwhelmingly approved an amendment to eliminate the 1099 provision.
In what NFIB calls a “Bait and Switch” tactic, President Obama's fiscal year 2012 budget still contains a portion of the 1099 provision. While eliminating the requirement for goods the budget proposal retains the 1099 mandate for services.
