Lame Duck Dems Applaud Pelosi After Vote To Raise Taxes

One Week Closer to a Massive Tax Increase
Speaker Pelosi and her “lame-duck” Congressional Majority are showing “no signs of relenting” on their plan to impose a massive, job-killing tax hike on small businesses.  In an effort to impose these tax increases, they staged a symbolic vote on Thursday in the House.

In the meantime, uncertainty continues to grip families and small businesses which are hesitant to make critical investment and hiring decisions.  Many cash-strapped states are “in budget limbo.”

Economists, including the authors of the so-called economic ‘stimulus’ bill, agree on the need to stop all the tax hikes:

The House voted 234-188 to pass legislation that would extend only some of the expiring Bush-era tax rates, sending the bill to the Senate. Twenty Democrats broke with their party and voted against the bill.

Pelosi gaveled the vote to a close herself, "receiving applause" from Democratic members.
The bill extends only the cuts for the middle-class, letting tax breaks end for families earning more than $250,000 per year and individuals making more than $200,000. The higher rate includes millions indivudual business owners that file their tax returns as Chapter S and LLC Small Businesses.

Every New Jersey Democrat Congressmen voted for the small business tax increase and both New Jerseys Democrat Senators are expected to vote for the measure.
At this point the proposal has virtually no chance to pass the Senate. It is sad that NJ small businesses have to rely on the heroic efforts of Senators from other States to save them and their businesses from the largest tax increase in US History while our own senators remain belligerent.
Even after their sound defeat in last months election, the Democrats in the House and Senate continue to play politics with our economy. Read More
