Governor Fixes Flawed Democrat Budget, Increases School Funding

Tom Kean & Tony Bucco: “Governor Helps Suburban Schools While Fixing Democrats’ Illegal Budget” 



Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean and Senate Republican Budget Officer Tony Bucco praised Governor Christie’s changes to the Democrats illegal, out of balance budget today for heeding Republican calls for added suburban school aid in the context of a balanced, fiscally responsible budget:
“The budget passed by legislative Democrats was political, partisan, and unbalanced from the minute it was introduced,” said Senator Kean. “I commend the Governor for taking the bold action necessary to fill the more than $700 million hole he was handed yesterday by the Majority, and for doing so while increasing aid for suburban districts that are treated unfairly by current school funding law. The Governor has proven what Republicans have been saying all along: we can do right by the taxpayers of New Jersey without resorting to the budget gimmicks and irresponsibility of the past. His changes to the budget will provide a doubling of this year’s suburban school aid increase and unfreeze the ‘Senior Freeze’ program without raising taxes and hurting job creation to pay for it.” Videos and More

On November 1st Taxpayers will have a choice to vote for the Legislators that are trying to help reduce their property taxes, or vote for the Legislators that are standing in the way. One would think that common sense dictates that voters will vote for who is trying to help reduce their property taxes, but this is also New Jersey.  We will know on November 2nd if the taxpayers of New Jersey have voted for "Real"  Hope  and Change, or more of the same from the Majority in Trenton.

Obama Flip Flops on ATMs

What A Difference A Week Makes!!!

Last week Barack Obama blamed ATMs and automation for the lack of jobs.

On NBC News he explained that it is not his job killing policies that are causing the economy to linger with little to no job growth, he explained that the reason companies aren’t hiring is automation and technology … “There are some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers. You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don’t go to a bank teller, or you go to the airport and you’re using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate.”

But that was so last week.......In his weekly Saturday morning address Barack Obama said that automation creates jobs. We are so confused.........

We have a nonpartisan, sterile, unflappable Congressional Budget Office virtually predicting a "fiscal crisis," yet the Democratic Senate continues to ignore their responsibility to pass a budget for over 2 years, 785 days to be exact. Where is the accountability? Where is the public outrage?

Texas Senator Asks: “Why aren’t you speaking English?”

Texas Once Again Stands In The Forefront By Speaking Up For American Ideals.

During committee testimony this week in Austin, a Texas senator interrupted a Spanish speaker and telling him he should “be speaking in English” during a committee hearing.

Antolin Aguirre of the Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition was testifying against Senate Bill 9 that would help crack down on illegal immigrants in Texas. Aguirre spoke through an interpreter even though he had been in the U.S. since 1988.

Two minutes into Antolin Aguirre’s testimony, Sen. Chris Harris, a Republican from Arlington, interrupted asking Aguirre’s interrupter, “Did I understand him correctly that he has been here since 1988?” Harris asked. “Why aren’t you speaking in English then?”

Through his interpreter, Aguirre said Spanish is his “first language and since it is his first time giving testimony he would rather do it in Spanish.”

“It is insulting to us,” Sen. Harris fired back. “It is very insulting. And if he knows English, he needs to be speaking in English.” Read More

Another term commonly used by unions refering to workers that choose not to belong to a union is scab. As anyone knows a scab is a sign of healing. In the case of a labor dispute, the scab serves to heal the wounds bought upon a company by a union job action.

Committee Republicans Demand NLRB Cease Job-Destroying Bureaucratic Activism

Republican Members of the House Education and the Workforce Committee have demanded the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) end its job-destroying activist agenda. In a letter to NLRB Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon, members describe a number of actions by the Obama labor board that call into question the objectivity and credibility of the office, including the NLRB’s most recent effort to force The Boeing Company to relocate a South Carolina assembly line to Washington.

NJ Watching Closely As Solar Industry Wavers In Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Inquirer recently reported that Pennsylvania's solar-energy industry is "collapsing under the weight of its own good fortune."  That worries New Jersey Officials that are counting on the growth of Solar Installations to continue to help the state pull out of the lingering recession.

• "Spurred by hundreds of millions of dollars in federal and state incentives, solar developers have built so many projects in recent years that they have created an oversupply of solar-energy credits, the market instruments that provide the developers with a critical income stream.
• "The price of solar credits in the state has plummeted as much as 75 percent in the last year, dramatically shrinking the income-producing potential of new and existing solar projects." Read More

New Jersey Officials continue to introduce and pass renewable energy legislation. The problem is they are not bothering to talk to New Jerseys Electrical Contracting Industry that knows the technology best. The problem is further exacerbated by unlicensed solar companies illegally installing Solar Voltaic Panels throughout the State.

NJ Electrical Contractors with a valid NJ EC License and Business Permit are the only ones that by Law are permitted to install, maintain and repair Solar Voltaic Systems in the State of New Jersey.

Dems Block Bill To Provide Regulatory Relieve To Small Business

A bill aimed at strengthening protections for Small Businesses against Excessive Federal Regulations was blocked by Senate Democrats. Although a majority of the Senate voted to give small businesses a measure of relief by providing some protection against Federal Regulatory burdens, the legislation fell short of the 60 votes needed to move forward.

The Senate vote was 53-46 for an amendment S474 sponsored by Senator Olympia Snowe, of Maine, that would strengthen the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA).

The RFA requires agencies to consider the impact that proposed regulations would have on small businesses. If the impact is economically significant, agencies are required to consider less-burdensome alternatives. Snowe’s amendment would have required agencies to consider not just the direct impact of a regulation, but also the indirect impacts on small firms that do business with companies that are directly affected.

All 47 Republicans and six forward thinking Democrats voted to provide much needed regulatory relief to small businesses. If passed, the bill would have provided business with a measure of confidence to expand their operations without the fear of costly regulations, likely resulting in the creation of more jobs. Deadline For A Balanced State Budget Looms

The deadline for a signed and balanced State Budget is exactly 20 days away. Democratic leaders in the legislature are rumored to be considering introducing their own budget that would likely include tax hikes. All 120 seats in the State legislature are up for election on November 1st. That makes some wonder why Democrats would want to take ownership of a difficult budget. One political expert thinks it is actually a pretty good strategy.

"I think the Democratic strategy is a plan 'A' and a plan 'B,'" says Fairleigh Dickinson University political science professor Peter Woolley. "Plan 'A' in the Democratic strategy is to force (Governor) Chris Christie to raise taxes and then say, 'You see, he broke his campaign promise. He can't be trusted.'"  Read More

You see, that type of deliberate action or inaction is typical Party Politics. The Majority does not really care  about taxpayers, if they did they would not have raised taxes 156 times over the two years preceding the Election of Chris Christie as Governor, they only care about holding onto or regaining their power, placing every taxpayer at their mercy. Make no mistake, they will have none. 

Every taxpayer should first and foremost make sure they vote on November 1st. Every taxpayer should also make sure that they have their tax bill in hand when they enter the voting booth. If they are happy with the status-quo that the majority in Trenton seem to love, they will vote for them, If they want real change in NJ they will have to decide if the candidate they are thinking of voting for is working to lower the tax bill they are holding in their hand or are they obstructing efforts to lower their tax burden. Once that has been determined their choice should be clear.

Administrations Monetary Policy Contributing To High Fuel Costs

A Congressional Joint Economic Committee reports the Obama administration’s monetary policies have added up to 56.5 cents to the price of every gallon of gas at the pump,

Had the dollar maintained the value it was when Obama took office, gasoline would cost in the area of $3.23 per gallon in New Jersey, instead of the $3.80 average cost it is now, and up to $4.00 per gallon in many parts of the country.

“Analysts and pundits often cite, correctly or incorrectly, the turmoil in the Middle East, a strengthening global economy, or speculation as the causes for the run up in crude oil prices,” the report said. “What is rarely discussed as an important factor in the rise of the dollar price of oil is the role played by the dollar itself.”

Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke claims there is little the fed can do about gas prices. His deceitfulness is appalling, although not unlike most others in this Administration, not unexpected.

Bernanke knows that Federal Reserve monetary policy plays a significant role in gasoline prices. Expansionary monetary policy leads to more dollars being available in world currency markets and weakens the dollar. The weaker dollar results in higher import prices. More than half of the oil consumed in the United States comes from foreign producers, and because oil is the main input needed to produce gasoline, higher oil prices mean higher gasoline prices.
