Republican Budget Plan to Eliminate National Debt!

House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan
House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan,
holds a copy of his budget proposal
Rep. Paul Ryan presents the Republican's budget proposal that will eliminate the national debt and preserve entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security.

Speaking just hours before the spending plan gets its formal introduction before Congress, Ryan, head of the House Budget Committee, said the debt will peak at 74.5 percent of gross domestic product in 2014 and then drop from there.

"We've got to show the country that we can get this situation under control and grow the economy, and that's what we're doing," he said. "So whether (Democratic Senate Majority Leader) Harry Reid is willing to pass this bill or Barack Obama is ready to sign it, I don't know the answer to that question. Read More

Meanwhile Obama spoke to the media after meeting at the White House with Leaders of both parties. He indicated that the proposals presented thusfar to avoid a government shutdown are non starters.

It is a sad state of affairs when the President and Democrats are insisting on compromise now when they were not willing to compromise while they had total control of both houses and the White House.

They also failed to pass a budget last year when it was due and they had that control. They could have passed a budget at any time last year and there would have been nothing the Republicans could have done to stop them. Instead of doing their job they chose to ignore the budget while they played politics in their failed attempt to hold onto power in the House.

2009 International Energy Conservation Code Now In Effect In New Jersey

Permit Applicants Must Prove Compliance With New Energy Codes

The six-month grace period allowing compliance with previous energy conservation codes ends March 7, 2011, in favor of new codes.
Last September, New Jersey adopted two standards regarding energy conservation, each affecting different types of buildings:
  • 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for low-rise residential buildings (one- and two-family dwellings and multiple-family buildings three stories or less in height).
  • American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 90.1 – 2007 for all other buildings, including commercial buildings, new buildings and their systems, new portions of buildings and their systems, and new systems and equipment in existing buildings.

Obamacare Impact On Employer And Group Health Plans

Health Care Reform Mandates On Employers
 Health Benefit Plans.

A majority of provisions within the Patients Prevention & Affordability Care Act impose new mandates on employers, including tax-exempt organizations, and in many cases will require modifications to employer provided health plans.

Employers will be mandated to report the cost of their health plans to the Government and also report that cost on each employee’s W-2 Form. Employers will also have to file information returns with the IRS describing the health insurance coverage they provide.

An employer who hasn't made any or has made only limited changes to their plan terms since March 23, 2010 "may be eligible" to be grandfathered to avoid implementing more reform provisions, provided the employer continues to meet specific requirements.

Obama has stated repeatedly that if you like your plan you can keep it....What he conveniently leaves out is you can keep your plan only if your plan complies with the many mandates contained within the law.

Dem Leadership Panders For Votes Ahead of Property Tax Relief

Tell Your Legislator Its Time To Vote On The Governors Property Tax Reform Tool Kit.

Tom Kean: “Democrats Choose Political Theater Over Property Tax Relief”

Senator Tom Kean Jr.
Senator Tom Kean, Jr. said that Democrats’ failure to pass the remaining toolkit legislation puts election year politics ahead of New Jersey property taxpayers:

“Rather than vote on ways to help property taxpayers, Democrats have chosen to use the Senate’s time to pick an election year fight with the Governor,” Kean said. “The Legislature’s calendar has been hijacked for political theater instead of taking on the significant challenges facing our state. Senate leadership should be holding votes on the toolkit bills they’ve ignored for a year.”

Senate Republicans Challenge Democrats To Set Date For Passage of Property Tax Relief

Senator Diane Allen (R-7) Sen. Diane Allen (R-7),  Senator Tom Kean (R-21) Sen. Tom Kean (R-21)

At a recent afternoon news conference, Senators Tom Kean, Jr. and Diane Allen were joined by a united Republican caucus in calling on the Democrat Majority to set a date for completion of the Governors property tax relief toolkit.

“For a year now, we’ve been told by the Majority that, to quote the Senate President, ‘The toolkit has to happen’,” said Senator Kean. “However, blatant partisan posturing against the Governor has caused them to break the promise they made last year to the taxpayers. Their inaction is forcing service reductions, police and fire layoffs, and tax increases that our communities cannot afford and the taxpayers should not be forced to bear. It is time for the Democrats to stop with their small minded politics and set a date certain to complete the toolkit and provide taxpayers the relief they deserve.”  Read More & Watch Video Here

This year the Entire Senate and Assembly in New Jersey are up for Re-Election.
On November 1st Taxpayers will have a choice to vote for the Legislators that are trying to help reduce their property taxes, or vote for the Legislators that are standing in the way.

One would think that common sense dictates that voters will vote for who is trying to help reduce their property taxes, but this is also New Jersey.  We will know on November 2nd if the taxpayers of New Jersey have voted for "Real" Hope and Change, or more of the same.

Last week was the anniversary of the signing of the President’s takeover of America’s health care system. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or as it is more commonly known "Obamacare", was supposed to reduce costs, provide better access to health care, and create jobs. The President even said "if you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan."

As NJECPAC had warned, Just one year after being signed into law, the cost of Obamacare has soared.  The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now estimates that the cost of Obamacare has increased by over $500 billion, added to the original $938 billion, brings the price tag to a staggering $1.445 trillion.

The President also promised that once fully implemented the cost of the overhaul would cost no more than $65 billion a year. Now the cost is estimated to be three times that. the cost of Medicare is expected to double virtually bankrupting the systems trust fund by 2020.

One year later, the law is actually stifling job creation, increasing the costs for all taxpayers, businesses, and states, has placed massive new paperwork requirements on Businesses and there have been over 1040 special waivers representing 2.6 million people just to allow them to keep their current plans.”

Now dont get us wrong, there are what can be viewed as a few good provisions contained in the law. However, exactly as the NJECPAC Board of Governors warned our Congressmen and Senators when they met with them in Washington, every one of those provisions increases costs to Employers, their Employees and Taxpayers. Which only serves to prove that there is no such thing as a free ride.

As New Jersey Democrats Delay Propoerty Taxes Rise

Assembly Democrats Agree, Taxpayers Need Real Reform Now

Senate Republican Budget Officer Tony Bucco called on the Legislative leadership to move immediately to approve the remaining parts of the “toolkit” package that have been languishing in the Legislature:

“Last July, the Legislature moved to implement a historic two-percent property tax cap in New Jersey. In the nine months since we enacted this cap that took effect January 1, the Senate and Assembly Democrats have refused to give local officials the necessary support to meet the cap for purely political reasons,” said Bucco.

NJECPAC Government Affairs Gets Heard at Woodbridge Town Hall Meeting

NJECPAC Government Affairs Committee Member Robert Spellmon was called upon by Governor Christie at a recent town hall meeting in Woodbridge Township.

Robert asked the Governor if he had plans to do anything about the exorbitant Prevailing wage plaguing our State.

The Governor in his response said it is a "State Statute that can not be changed.........Not by this Legislature".

The Governor left the door open by hinting that change may be coming to New Jersey when he indirectly eluded to the upcoming November 1st election by adding "At least over the next 7 or 8 months"  Watch Video Here

1,040 Health Care Law Waivers & Counting

The arguments against ObamaCare continue to grow as the Department of Health and Human Services handed out the 1,040th health care waiver this week.

HHS Secretary
Kathleen Sebelius
For a law that was touted by the Obama Administration and entire Democrat Party as the best Social Entitlement since the financially troubled Social Security System, they are pretty quick to grant waivers from it.

This comes at the same time Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admits double counting money for funding of the bill after being called out by Illinois Republican Rep. John Shimkus during a budget hearing.

The large majority of the waivers are granted to labor unions to protect their Mercedes Health Care Plans, fllowed by large corporations that merely have to claim that the law would cause them to drop health insurance for their employees altogether and another waiver is born.

The entire state of Maine was granted an waiver, how you ask, Health Insurance Compaies in the state threatened to leave the state citing their inability to survive under the laws mandates.
