World Crises Abound, Wheres Obama? Recommiting To Paycheck Fairness Act.

Watch Video Here
So Where was Obama when Japan is buried by an earthquake and tsunami, and may now be facing a Nuclear Meltdown, the Mideast on the verge of Civil War, and gas prices are skyrocketing?  He was on the radio reviving the Paycheck Fairness Act, followed by a leisurely round of Golf and then he was off the Reo.

Early in his term Obama rushed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act  through Congress. On the surface the bill provides basic protections against wage discrimination for women and that is how it was touted. The truth is, the law will result in business thinking twice before hiring women and risk having to defend themselves against a charge of discrimination years and even decades later. The new broad timeline to file discrimination suits will make it impossible for employers to defend themselves. Like so many laws passed by congress, the intent to fix one problem often results in the creation of new and even larger problems than what the legislation supposedly was passed to fix.

The same concept applies to the Paycheck Fairness Act. If passed, no longer will an employer have the ability to pay based upon Merit, everyone will be paid the same. The result will be the Government taking on the role of being a union followed by millions of dollars for trail lawyers who can not wait to start filing law suits under the law even before it is passed.

ABC / IEC Tells Congress Government Mandated PLAs Violate Federal Law

Associated Builders and Contractors’ General Counsel Maurice Baskin, testified that administration efforts to mandate project labor agreements (PLAs) as part of the federal procurement process are “threatening to violate the longstanding Congressional mandate of full and open competition in federal procurement—at taxpayers’ expense.”

“Neither the president nor the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council has the authority to override the statutory mandate of full and open competition in all federal procurements,” Baskin said.

ABC & IEC Members, John F. Biagas, CEO of Bay Electric, Newport News, Va., and John Ennis, Jr., CEO of Ennis Electric Company, Inc., Manassas, Va.; also testified at the hearing.

The government’s own market research has shown repeatedly that PLAs will not serve the interests of taxpayers, will discourage competitive bidding and will increase costs

Living In Heaven With Ralph Kramden

Can we stop acting as if people who work for the government are the heroes of working people?

MSNBC among others are covering the public union fighting in Wisconsin as if it's the 9/11 attack, and the Republicans are al-Qaida. Its entire prime-time schedule is dedicated to portraying self- interested government employees as if they're Marines taking on the Taliban.

Public sector workers are pursuing their own narrow financial interests to the detriment of everyone else in their states. That's fine, its what most of us do, but can we stop pretending it's virtuous?

Because of the insane union contracts in Wisconsin, one Madison bus driver, was able to make $159,000 in 2009, about $100,000 of which in overtime pay. Jackie Gleason didn't make that much playing bus driver Ralph Kramden on "The Honeymooners."

When asked about the outrageous overtime pay for bus drivers, totaling $1.94 million in 2009 alone, Transit and Parking Commission Chairman Gary Poulson said: "That's the contract."

There in lies the problem, not as much with the workers that are going to work and being paid per that contract, but with the political hack that agreed to that contract in the first place, all at the publics expense. It's ludicrous to suggest that these union contracts were fairly bargained. Only one side was at the negotiating table. The side who is actuall has to pay were all at work.

Largest Federal Budget Deficit In Us History!!!

Federal Government Posts  Largest Monthly Deficit in History

The Congressional Budget Office has reported the federal government will post a
$223 Billion Deficit for the "Month of February", which sets a new record for the largest monthly deficit posted in U.S. history.

The new figure comes as President Obama has released a $3.7 Trillion Budget for 2012 that will add $1.6 trillion to the National Debt. Republicans have proposed meager budget cuts for the current fiscal year, but Democrats and the White House have strongly opposed them and submitted their own woefully inadequate budget cuts.

The debate on cutting federal spending continues on Capitol Hill as Democrats call $61.5 billion in cuts proposed by Republicans "draconian," while "meeting the GOP half way" by presenting their mere $4.7 billion in cuts as the threat of a partial government shutdown looms for the second time in less than three weeks.

"Meeting Half Way" ?  I dont know about anyone else, but my third grade math does not comprehend 4.7 billion as meeting 61.5 billion half way.

“Stimulus” Just Got More Pricey

Noted With Interest: “Stimulus” Just Got More Pricey
The Congressional Budget Office, has raised the cost estimate of President Obama’s economic “stimulus” program. The office calculated it will end up costing taxpayers $821 billion, $34 billion more than originally stated.

Those are the current figures that could still change. It also does not count the interest that we’re paying on the money borrowed from the Chinese and other foreign interests to finance the package.

Redistricting.....Why You Should Care!!!!

One Of The Decade's Most Important Political Fights In A Decade Is Under Way.

If you care about property taxes, the state's economy, all of the jobs that have been driven from the State by sky high corporate taxes, and Governor Chris Christie's ability to turn around the States finances, pay very close attention.

What Is At Stake In Redistricting Is Control Of The Legislature For The Next 10 Years.

"You're going to hear a lot of political theory and statistics," Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Cryan, D-Union, said. "But I just want everybody to keep this in mind: This exercise is going to decide New Jersey's public policy for the next decade. Make no mistake, this is really about public policy and how it gets determined. This affects every individual in New Jersey — to their neighborhood, to their block."

Why It Really Matters: A map drawn by Republicans was used in the 1990s, and the GOP controlled the Legislature for 10 years. A map drawn by Democrats was used for the last decade, and that party has controlled Trenton ever since. These maps can be drawn to protect incumbents and limit competition, block efforts to reform property taxes, or be made wildly responsive to voters' whims.

Dems Renews Effort To Raise Taxes

Christie rejects Democrats' rich tax proposal, calls it a 'one-year fix'
Governor Christie Calls The Democrats' Rich Tax Proposal, a 'one-year fix'

New Jersey’s millionaires are at the center of another budget debate between Governor Chris Christie and the Democrats who control the Legislature, every one of whom is up for re-election this year.

Democratic Legislators once again plan proposing a tax increase on those making more than $1 million a year. This time they plan on adding it to the State Budget.

Governor Christie vetoed the tax increase last year, which Democrats claimed would have restored property tax rebates for senior citizens. But to what end?

The Governor, and rightfully so, is accusing Democratically controlled Legislature of pandering to senior citizens in an election year. He called the proposal a one-year fix that will harm the state's economy.

He reiterated his pledge to veto any tax increase, he characterized the dispute as a "philosophical difference" between himself and Democrats that want a Bigger More Expensive Government.
