Business Groups Launch Ads and Grassroots; Vote Likely Next Week

All signs point to a House vote next week on health care reform legislation, and House Democrats are pulling out all the stops get this measure passed.

The plan now being pushed by Speaker Pelosi is a bold legislative move that utilizes the rules of the House to pass the legislation out of the House (and send it to the president for signature) without a vote ever being cast on the bill itself. Yes, the Democrats will try to pass a more than $2 trillion overhaul of our nation’s health care system without actually voting on it. See below under “Rules of the House” if you of want to learn more about how this will work.

IEC with the US Chamber of Commerce are leading members of the Employers for a Healthy Economy, which launched a new nationally TV ad, which you can view here.

IEC also launched a grassroots Action Alert, calling on their members to contact their federal representatives to oppose the health care reform bill currently being debated. In two days, over 250 IEC members have taken the opportunity to speak out on this very important issue. You can have your voice heard too, just visit www.IECVotes.com today to contact your representative.
