Health Care Reform Law To Increase Costs For Small Business

The new Health Care Law HR3590 will do nothing to lower health insurance costs for small businesses and will instead increase premiums and add many new costs. In fact there are more reasons for employers to drop insurance for their employees than there is to provide it.

The law has few meaningful incentives for small business, and does little to help small businesses offer insurance to their employees. "The sad truth is there is very little in this law that would make a small business want to begin offering if they aren't already, much less even continue offering coverage if they already do," writes NFIB CEO Dan Danner.

Expert analysts continue to find more and more provisions and mandates included in HR3590 that will be harmfull to small business. A good example is the 1099 provision mandating a business to issue a 1099 to any other business from which they purchase any goods and/or services in excess of $600.00 begining January 1st 2012.
