The President, speaking at a sandwich shop in Edison, urged Congress to pass legislation to help small businesses. "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. They are central to our identity as a nation. They are going to lead this recovery," Obama said. Democrats and Republicans have been trying to appeal to small-business owners, but the parties have different ideas about how best to serve them.
